Freight Dispatcher Needed

Freight Dispatcher – Local P&D Operations Greensboro, NC | Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We are seeking an experienced Freight Dispatcher to support our fast-paced local Pick-Up & Delivery (P&D) operation based in Greensboro, NC. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong local market knowledge and a passion for coordinating freight movement efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Dispatch and coordinate local P&D drivers across Greensboro and the surrounding areas
Support morning traffic operations and take full control of inbound freight, sorting, staging, and
afternoon pickups
Coordinate inbound linehauls and oversee warehouse staff during loading and unloading
Manage incoming drivers, review and verify paperwork, and ensure freight is properly labeled and
staged
Monitor and respond to customer pickup and delivery requests via phone and email
Schedule drivers, confirm pickup times, and communicate shipment details and special handling requirements to customers
Perform data entry, EDI communications, and rate quoting as required
Serve as a key customer-facing contact, ensuring clear communication and high service standards

Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in freight dispatching (required)Strong working knowledge of local P&D operations, airport recoveries, and warehouse coordination
Excellent phone, computer, and multitasking skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management abilities
Confident, professional communicator who remains calm under competing priorities
Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and prefers taking initiative over reacting

Requirements
Punctual and reliable transportation
Professional demeanor with a strong can-do attitude
Ability to manage a multi-line phone system in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch/data entry systems
Clean background check required (TSA-certified air cargo environment)
Participation in a company-wide zero-tolerance drug policy
