Freight Scheduling and Warehouse Transfer Coordinator

Freight Scheduling and Warehouse Transfer Coordinator

Location: Groton, MA

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 100% onsite

Compensation: $25–$30 per hour (overtime is not expected, though not guaranteed)

Contract: 6 months with potential to extend based on department needs

A day in this role

You start your morning in Groton aligning the day’s truck schedules, confirming pickups and deliveries, and locking in carrier appointments. Before lunch, you’ve coordinated a series of material moves headed from Groton to our expanding Clinton warehouse, ensured bills of lading are accurate, and synced with the Clinton Supervisor to prep receiving. In the afternoon, you reconcile inventory variances, close out open transfers, and follow up on any exceptions so nothing lingers overnight. Throughout the day, you’re the steady hand that ties up the loose ends and keeps materials flowing.

Why this role exists

Our supply chain organization has grown quickly—new leadership, new processes, and an active warehouse expansion in Clinton. We’re moving a high volume of equipment and materials between sites and need a coordinator who brings order, clarity, and momentum to a fast-moving operation.

What you will do

  • Own daily trucking schedules: book carriers, confirm times, and coordinate with drivers for on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Facilitate inter-facility transfers from Groton to Clinton, preparing documentation and partnering with the Clinton team to receive accurately.
  • Troubleshoot shipment issues with trucking companies and keep stakeholders informed until resolution.
  • Strengthen inventory control by reconciling counts, addressing discrepancies, and closing open transactions.
  • Maintain organized records of shipments, appointments, and transfer documentation.
  • Proactively identify gaps and “finish the job” so no detail is left hanging.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll report to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager and collaborate closely with a small, supportive team:

  • Groton: Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Buyer, and Scheduler.
  • Clinton warehouse: Supervisor plus two additional team members.

Altogether, you’ll partner with about seven colleagues across both sites.

What you bring

  • Hands-on trucking scheduling experience—coordinating and facilitating shipments and working directly with carriers.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through; you thrive on creating order amid change.
  • A self-starter mindset—able to hit the ground running and operate with minimal oversight.
  • Calm under pressure with a solutions-first approach to day-to-day logistics challenges.

Additional details

  • This is a 100% onsite position based in Groton, MA.
  • Initial term is 6 months; extensions are possible depending on departmental needs.
  • While overtime is most likely not included, this is not definite and may vary with workload.
