Overview
The Continuing Education Department at The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable French Instructor to teach non-credit French language courses for adult learners. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can help students build confidence and proficiency in French through engaging, interactive, and practical instruction.
Courses may include Beginner, Intermediate, Conversational French, Total Immersion, Culture in Practice, French for Professionals, French for Healthcare, French for Customer Service, and customized workforce training programs.
- Teach French language courses to adult learners in classroom, online, or hybrid formats.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons focused on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Create instructional materials and activities that support adult learning.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and interactive classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain attendance, course records, and required documentation.
- Integrate French culture, customs, history, and contemporary topics into instruction.
- Collaborate with Continuing Education staff to enhance course offerings and student success.
- Utilize technology and online learning tools to support instruction.
Experience
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
- Prior teaching, training, tutoring, or instructional experience.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and virtual teaching platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of French grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
- Conversational language teaching techniques.
- Cultural competency and knowledge of French-speaking countries and regions.
- Ability to explain complex language concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
