French-Speaking Teacher or Assistant Teacher @ Preschool

Au P’tit Monde is seeking a dedicated native French-speaking preschool teacher or assistant teacher to join our warm and collaborative team. We are looking for someone who loves working with young children and is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment where children can thrive.

Our ideal candidate is friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, and enjoys working closely with colleagues to support children’s development through play, creativity, and exploration.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
• Engage warmly with children and provide guidance and encouragement throughout the day
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Foster a dynamic learning environment where play and curiosity flourish
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom management
• Maintain clean, organized, and inviting classroom spaces

Requirements

• Native French speaker, fluent in spoken and written French
• Genuine passion for working with young children
• Patient, caring, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy classroom environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a preschool or childcare setting
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or related certification (preferred)

Position Details

• Long-term position (1+ year commitment preferred)
• Contract renewal: Likely
• Typical schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
