Job Overview:
As a Freight Broker, you will be trained and gradually take responsibility for coordinating the movement of goods between shippers and carriers. This role involves handling logistics operations, building professional relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring shipments are delivered on time. It is an entry-level opportunity well-suited for candidates interested in starting a career in logistics and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and apply methods to build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers, understanding their requirements and expectations.
• Match available freight with suitable carriers based on capacity, routes, and cost considerations.
• Negotiate freight rates and contract terms to achieve competitive pricing while protecting company margins.
• Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation such as contracts and bills of lading.
• Track shipments throughout transit to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Deliver high-quality customer service by maintaining clear communication with shippers and carriers and handling queries or disputes.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, market conditions, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using freight brokerage systems and databases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred.
• Working knowledge of invoicing software and Microsoft Excel.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
