Front Counter Associate Job Description

Summary

The Front Counter Associate is responsible for performing various duties including making smoothies and other small food items, providing customer service, ability to operate a POS system (register) and problem solve if something arises. Must be willing to work morning shifts primarily and evening shifts as needed. This is a Part Time Job. The Front Counter Associate also receives tips in addition to hourly pay.

Duties

Coordinates, and participates in preparation of all types of food served or prepared by individual unit; collection of monies from in-house or take-out customers and maintaining a clean environment.

Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives, organizes and schedules other people and their tasks, develops realistic action plans.

Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, allows others to ask questions, demonstrates group presentation skills, prepares and presents unit meetings.

Written Communication – Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, able to read and interpret written information.

Abilities / Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should possess the following abilities/skills:

Language – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers.

Math – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts andpercentages.

Reasoning – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer – Knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; inventory software; internet software; order processing systems and database software.
