Front Desk / Graphic Designer

Job Summary
Join a custom sign and graphics company where you’ll handle both customer communication and day-to-day design work.

This is a role focused primarily on email-based communication and production-oriented design. You’ll be responsible for responding to customer inquiries, organizing job details, and creating clean, production-ready layouts for signage.

Most of the design work is practical, not highly creative. You’ll take customer requests and turn them into accurate proofs that can be built. We primarily use CorelDRAW, but experience with Adobe Illustrator is also welcome.

On the front end, you’ll manage incoming requests, keep projects organized, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Walk-in traffic is minimal, so the role is more about communication, organization, and consistency than face-to-face interaction.

We’re a small, steady operation with a consistent workload. This is a full-time, on-site role (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM), and you’ll be expected to stay organized, work efficiently, and keep projects moving without constant direction.

This is a good fit for someone who prefers structured, production-based work and understands that the goal is accuracy and efficiency, not overdesigning. There is room to grow into a larger role based on performance.

Duties:

  • Respond to customer emails and handle incoming job requests
  • Gather project details and organize information for quoting and production
  • Create simple, accurate proofs for signage (text layouts, logos, sizing, spacing)
  • Set up production-ready files for print, vinyl, and CNC work
  • Make revisions quickly based on customer feedback
  • Keep jobs organized and moving through the workflow
  • Communicate clearly with customers to clarify details and avoid mistakes
  • Assist with basic file prep and adjustments as needed
  • Work primarily in CorelDRAW, with Adobe Illustrator as needed

Requirements:

  • Basic experience with CorelDRAW and/or Adobe Illustrator
  • Comfortable creating simple layouts with text, logos, and sizing (not advanced design work)
  • Able to work quickly and make revisions without overthinking
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Clear written communication (most customer interaction is by email)
  • Able to manage multiple small jobs at once and keep them moving
  • Reliable and able to work without constant direction

Preferred experience:

  • Any sign shop, print, or production experience
  • Familiarity with preparing files for print, vinyl, or CNC
  • Basic understanding of materials like acrylic, PVC, or aluminum

This is a hands-on role focused on real-world production work. If you’re organized, learn quickly, and can turn around clean layouts efficiently, you’ll do well here.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
