Position: Guest Experience Associate / Front Desk Associate
Location: Otis Harbor Springs – 7291 S Lake Shore Dr, Harbor Springs, MI 49740
Reporting To: General Manager
Position Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Weekend availability required.
Reliable Transportation Required

Position Summary

As one of the primary faces of Otis, you play a central role in shaping the guest experience from arrival through departure. This role goes beyond a traditional front desk position and is deeply integrated into the overall guest journey and daily hotel operations.

You will be primarily responsible for front desk and guest experience coverage while also supporting broader hotel operations as needed, including housekeeping coordination, food & beverage support, lobby presentation, and on-site guest activations. The ideal candidate is warm, proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about hospitality.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating meaningful guest interactions, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and thrives within a collaborative boutique hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Deliver a warm, thoughtful, and personalized guest experience that reflects Otis hospitality standards
  • Welcome guests upon arrival, assist with check-in and check-out, and provide property orientation and local recommendations
  • Serve as an approachable and helpful on-site presence throughout each guest’s stay
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively assist in creating memorable experiences
  • Handle guest concerns professionally, calmly, and with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout lobby and shared guest spaces
  • Support special events, activations, and elevated guest moments on property

Front Desk & Operations

  • Manage guest communications across phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and reservation requests
  • Process reservations, payments, and daily reporting accurately and responsibly
  • Coordinate closely with housekeeping and leadership to ensure room readiness and operational flow
  • Record guest preferences, notes, and feedback to support future stays and personalized hospitality
  • Assist with deliveries, inventory organization, and operational tasks as needed
  • Support food & beverage service operations during busy periods when necessary

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, warm, and polished demeanor
  • Comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficient with general computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team-oriented environment
  • Naturally hospitable, dependable, proactive, and detail-driven

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout a shift
  • Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 10 lbs and up to 50 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to move throughout the property as operational needs require

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
