Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using Medisoft
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, accurate billing and documentation review.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation review for completeness and correctness using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards.
- Assist with billing processes such as medical collection procedures and medical coding to support revenue cycle management.
- Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, filing medical records, and coordinating patient intake procedures.
- Utilize computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Verify insurance information through insurance portals and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth patient visits.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and data handling activities.
Experience
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially within OB/GYN or women's health settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Medisoft of other EMR
- Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, claims processing is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to OB/GYN services enhances communication accuracy.
- Excellent clerical skills including typing (10 key), filing, data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems are required.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on patient service excellence in a healthcare environment are vital.
- Familiarity with women's health experience is beneficial but not mandatory; healthcare administrative support experience is valued highly.
