Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Front Desk Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and checking patients in/out
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and process transactions
- Verify insurance or payment information
- Manage email & fax inquiries and respond in a timely manner
- Coordinate communication between patients and team members
Skills
- Strong knowledge of patient care procedures specific to ophthalmology or optometry settings
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with medical records management
- Knowledge of optical terminology
- Understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy relevant to eye health, and clinic operations
- Ability to perform basic medical coding and billing tasks accurately
- Excellent communication skills for front desk interactions and patient education
- Experience working in a healthcare environment such as ophthalmology clinics or medical offices is preferred
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
