This vital role combines front office responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. You will be the welcoming face of our practice, managing patient interactions, while also providing essential medical assistance in a fast-paced environment that spans outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, and specialized areas like dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointments, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Collect patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and insurance details; perform basic intake assessments.
- Support clinical staff by measuring vital signs, recording patient data accurately, and preparing exam rooms for provider visits.
- Assist with medical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray coordination, and basic physiology or anatomy assessments as needed.
- Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and patient correspondence to ensure seamless clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures; support inpatient or outpatient records management.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare protocols related to emergency medicine, Level I/II trauma center procedures, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or hospital experience requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is a plus but not required. More important is accurate documentation and communication.
- Experience working in podiatry clinics or other medical settings would be a plus however not required. Looking for willingness to learn and be able to retain instructions.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for charting and scheduling; ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms. Computer and Typing skills is a must.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement.
- Strong organizational skills to manage intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
