Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes
- Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and assist with insurance verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or EHR platforms
- Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software such as MY VISION EXPRESS, managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Collect and review patient information, ensuring all medical records are complete and up-to-date in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain organized filing of patient records, medical documents, and correspondence in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support clinic operations by performing administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, filing documents, and managing office supplies
Requirements:
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
- Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior experience in medical billing, insurance verification, intake procedures, and documentation review is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times
