Job Summary


Front Desk Support are responsible for providing customer service to all students and visitors to Disability Services (DRS). This position serves as frontline support to staff, students and faculty. Performs various clerical duties which may include reception, customer service, answering phones, scheduling appointments, photocopying, scanning, data entry, screening documents for accuracy and completeness, written correspondence, email, filing, campus errands and other duties as directed.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor front desk by greeting and providing assistance to all visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer, screen and manage a high volume of calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Perform enrollment services related functions (i.e. setting up MEID), respond to inquiries generated via phone, email and web
  • Track all student interaction DRS Connect
  • Assist office staff with daily operations including scheduling appointments, document processing, data entry, office support, and other tasks as assigned
  • Maintaining a clean and professional office environment
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Effective written and communication skills

Special Working Conditions

  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense
  • This position is in-office
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • Work alternating open and close shifts
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.

Additional Requirements


Role and Responsibilities:

General

  • Follow the policies of the department and college, and adhere to all written procedures as set down in the staff handbook.
  • Be punctual and have regular attendance.
  • Provide quality customer service to staff, students, faculty and the general public.
  • Keep all confidential records secure and keep up-to-date with FERPA regulations.
  • Responsible for clocking in and out of work

Office

  • Responsible for the front desk area.
  • Greet, screen and sign-in students and visitors.
  • Routes all incoming communication: phone calls, office emails and voicemails.
  • Maintains Google calendar and appointments.
  • Accurately maintains DRS Connect ensuring all communications with students are documented
  • Screen and schedule appointment for the students to meet with the DRS Program Advisors.
  • Schedules appointments, meetings, equipment, room and facilities reservations.
  • Perform regular inventory of operational and office supplies and notify the Administrative Specialist of supplies needed.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment in the office.
  • Provide information to students regarding campus resources
  • Assist students with their DRS Connect, Student Center, and Canvas accounts.
  • Participate in DRS functions as directed.
  • Perform other necessary tasks as requested by the Manager of DRS.
