Front End Developer

SpaceNav is a Colorado-based applied mathematics and aerospace engineering company. We deliver technical solutions in the areas of Space Situational Awareness, Systems Engineering, and Mission Operations. The Role:
We are encouraging applications for a Front End Developer to join our growing product team. This role will design, develop and deploy various web pages that comprise an integrated Software as a Service (SaaS) application. The Front End Developer will be responsible for creating solutions that make the website more visually appealing and enhance the user experience through effective user interfaces. This role will work with the software engineering team to ensure seamless integration between the front and back end. This position requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated and at times work with little supervision. The ability to interact with other professionals in various sectors is critical. This role is based in Boulder, CO and requires 100% in-person work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and responsive user interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and back-end engineers to translate designs and wireframes into functional user experiences.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for front-end code.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end trends, tools, and technologies and apply them to improve our product.
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least two years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., plotly.js, D3.js, Chart.js).
• Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
• Proficiency in modern web development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Due to regulatory and contractual agreements, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
• Experience with mobile development.
• Experience in the [specific industry, e.g., aerospace, defense, mapping] domain.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Expertise with a major front-end framework/library (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Vuex) is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
