Job overview and responsibility

Our client is seeking a Frontend Engineering Leader to drive the frontend development of their B2B SaaS platform in the accounting domain. In this role, you will lead the technical strategy, development, and mentoring for frontend teams across Japan and Vietnam delivering high-quality user experiences and collaborating closely with global product teams.

This is a key position to scale the product globally and help build an exciting developer culture in the Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto) and beyond.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and mentor frontend teams across Japan and Vietnam.
- Drive frontend technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap.
- Design and build scalable, high-performing web applications using React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Ensure high standards in code quality, UX, performance, and accessibility.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers.
- Promote knowledge sharing, modern development practices, and CI/CD automation.
- Own and evolve the frontend development environment and workflows.
- Support junior/mid-level engineers in their growth and learning.

Required skills and experiences

- 8+ years in web development; 5+ years in frontend engineering.
- 3+ years experience in React.js and Next.js in production systems.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS.
- Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and AWS-based infrastructure.
- Proven experience in setting frontend technical standards and mentoring engineers.
- Fluent English communication skills (TOEIC 750+ or equivalent required or tested during selection).

- Strong understanding of web security, performance optimization, and design systems.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, Playwright, Storybook, and Node.js build tools (e.g., Babel, webpack).
