Position Overview
Nanna’s Cafe and Bread Company is seeking a motivated and service-driven Front of House Server to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hospitality, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of creating an exceptional customer experience.

Our front of house team plays a key role in maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that Nanna’s is known for. The ideal candidate is attentive, organized, and proactive, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to helping the entire team operate smoothly.

Nanna’s Cafe and Bread Company is a gluten-free bakery and cafe serving high-quality baked goods, fresh meals, and specialty items to the Rapid City community. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and want to contribute to a professional, team-oriented environment focused on great food and outstanding service.

Primary Responsibilities

Guest Experience and Customer Service

  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit
  • Assist customers with menu questions and product knowledge
  • Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and professional service
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the dining area

Food Running and Order Support

  • Deliver food and beverages quickly and accurately from the kitchen to guests
  • Monitor tables and dining areas to ensure guests have everything they need
  • Assist with preparing and packaging takeout orders for accuracy and presentation

Dining Room Organization and Cleanliness

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment throughout the day
  • Bus and reset tables quickly to maintain smooth service flow
  • Sweep, wipe surfaces, and support general front-of-house cleaning responsibilities

Service Preparation and Daily Side Work

  • Prepare and roll silverware to maintain service readiness
  • Restock front-of-house supplies such as napkins, utensils, condiments, and beverage stations
  • Assist with opening and closing duties to ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for service

Team Support and Operational Assistance

  • Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient service
  • Anticipate operational needs and step in where support is needed
  • Assist with additional tasks that help maintain quality, speed, and organization during service

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant, cafe, or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Commitment to cleanliness, efficiency, and excellent customer service

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds when needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
