Front of House Host

Otto Izakaya is seeking a poised and dependable Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you set the tone for their entire dining experience. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a high-energy environment and maintains a calm, professional demeanor regardless of the pace of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Reception: Warmly greet guests upon arrival and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
• Table Management: Coordinate seating flow to ensure a balanced workload for the service staff and a seamless experience for guests.
• Professional Communication: Handle phone inquiries, take reservations, and manage take-out orders with clarity and courtesy.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean and organized host station and assist with light menu upkeep.
• Conflict Resolution: Address guest concerns with the utmost professionalism and escalate to management when necessary.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Weekend Availability: This position is exclusively for weekend shifts. Consistency is non-negotiable; we require a team member who is punctual and reliable for every scheduled shift.
• Professionalism: You must possess the ability to remain composed and polite under pressure, especially during peak dinner rushes.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and a welcoming personality are essential.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask while keeping a close eye on the floor plan and guest needs.
• Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
