Front of House Lead

Position Title: Front of House Lead

Position Summary

The Front of House Operations Lead oversees the daily execution of dining room and bar service, ensuring members and guests receive attentive, polished, and consistent hospitality. This role coordinates service staff, maintains high operational standards, and ensures seamless communication between the dining room, kitchen, and leadership team.

The position is responsible for cultivating a professional service culture that reflects the expectations of a premier private club while driving accountability, efficiency, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate all dining room and bar service during operational hours.
  • Ensure consistent execution of service standards appropriate for an upscale private club environment.
  • Lead pre-service meetings to review menus, specials, reservations, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor the dining room experience and proactively address member needs or service concerns.

Team Oversight and Development

  • Train, mentor, and develop servers, bartenders, and support staff.
  • Establish clear expectations for professionalism, service etiquette, and hospitality standards.
  • Provide real-time coaching during service to improve performance and consistency.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling front-of-house staff.

Operational Execution

  • Coordinate table flow, reservations, and special dining requests.
  • Ensure proper setup and cleanliness of the dining room, bar, and service areas.
  • Maintain service readiness including staffing levels, side work completion, and shift transitions.
  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and alcohol service compliance standards.

Member Experience

  • Build strong relationships with club members and guests.
  • Address concerns promptly with professionalism and discretion.
  • Anticipate service needs and ensure a welcoming, family-friendly club atmosphere.

Coordination with Culinary Team

  • Maintain constant communication with the kitchen to ensure efficient ticket times and smooth service flow.
  • Ensure servers have a strong understanding of menus, ingredients, and daily features.
  • Assist with menu rollouts, special events, and dining promotions.

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with labor controls and staff scheduling.
  • Monitor service performance metrics and member feedback.
  • Support implementation of service systems, training programs, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in upscale dining, hospitality, or private club service leadership.
  • Strong understanding of fine dining service standards and etiquette.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop young or inexperienced service teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and club events.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in the dining room, bar, and event service areas of a private club setting. The position requires extended periods on the floor during peak service times and active engagement with members, guests, and staff.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
