Front of House Staff

Overview
The Front of House Associate is a full-time role responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced café-style bakery environment. The ideal candidate is experienced in café or quick-service hospitality, thrives under pressure, and brings both warmth and reliability to every shift.

Guest Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service experiences for all guests in person, via phone, and via email
  • Greet, welcome, and connect with guests; treat each guest as a VIP
  • Answer questions about daily and custom offerings and pricing with confidence
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide tailored product suggestions
  • Receive guest feedback with professionalism and take appropriate action to resolve any issues
  • Assist guests with all point-of-sale transactions, including voids, refunds, and discounts

Team Leadership & Floor Support

  • Direct part-time associates on task prioritization during closing and bakery stocking procedures
  • Serve as a dependable point of contact on the floor in the absence of a manager
  • Model company values and service standards for junior team members
  • Assist in onboarding and orienting new front-of-house staff as needed

Operations

  • Take, process, and communicate orders with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Perform shifts as scheduled to open and close the bakery
  • Package and label baked goods as needed
  • Stock bakery display cases and retail areas; monitor inventory levels and flag shortages
  • Assist with daily and weekly cleaning requirements
  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to food safety code standards
  • Ensure compliance with all bakery policies and procedures, including safety and equipment use
  • Assist culinary team as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a café, coffee shop, or quick-service food and beverage environment
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence with strong interpersonal skills
  • A current California Food Handlers Certificate (or ability to obtain one prior to start)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and dependability
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
