Front of House/Barista

Job Summary

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages.
• Prepare and serve soups, salads and sandwiches.
• Serve fresh baked pastries.
• Handle cash register transactions accurately using POS system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
• Manage food safety standards by following proper food handling, preparation, and serving procedures
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance sales while providing excellent customer service

Skills

• Proven experience as a Barista or in food service roles within cafés or restaurants
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect with guests
• Effective time management to handle busy periods smoothly and efficiently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order calculations
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to multitask confidently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
