Front Office Manager/Assitant

Position Title: Office Manager / Assistant Preschool Teacher
Schedule: Part-Time, 2 Full Days per Week
Hours: Approximately 16–18 hours per week (depending on school needs)
Reports To: Preschool Director

Position Summary

We are seeking a warm, organized, and flexible team member to serve as both an Office Manager and Assistant Preschool Teacher. This unique role combines administrative support with classroom assistance, helping ensure the smooth daily operation of our preschool while supporting teachers, children, and families.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with young children, communicates professionally with families, and is willing to step into a variety of roles throughout the day.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries from prospective and current families.
  • Schedule and coordinate school tours.
  • Send enrollment packets and assist families through the enrollment process.
  • Organize, file, and maintain student and school records.
  • Assist with data entry and administrative paperwork.
  • Order classroom, office, and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of school supplies.
  • Keep the staff lounge organized, stocked, and tidy.
  • Support the Director with special projects and general office tasks.
  • Help maintain a welcoming and professional school environment.

Preschool Assistant Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support as needed throughout the day.
  • Cover teacher breaks, lunches, and restroom breaks.
  • Assist with supervision of children during indoor and outdoor play.
  • Support teachers with classroom preparation and material organization.
  • Help prepare learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing classroom materials and shared spaces.
  • Support children in daily routines and transitions.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Aftercare Responsibilities

  • Take primary responsibility for the Aftercare Program from 3:00 PM–5:30 PM on scheduled workdays.
  • Provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during aftercare.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and quiet play opportunities.
  • Monitor attendance and supervise child pick-up procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with families during dismissal.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting preferred.
  • Previous administrative or office experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable using email, office software, and basic computer systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to meet all state licensing requirements for preschool staff.
