DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service
  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions and engaging in suggestive selling techniques (telephone, intercom announcements, one-on-one interaction).
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director when necessary.
Product & Merchandising
  • Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products; ensure cleanliness of work area and department.
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and shelves are clean and properly maintained.
  • Stock and rotate products to maintain freshness and quality.
Inventory & Reclamation
  • Control inventory levels according to division directives.
  • Supervise processing of reclamation and maintain orderly stock conditions in back room and Frozen Food Department.
  • Assist with physical inventory every six months.
  • Monitor and enforce proper code dating for all products.
Equipment & Safety
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine.
  • Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas.
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.
Administrative & Compliance
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines (Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook).
  • Complete and monitor daily log sheets, sales, labor reports, and other required paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, and company policies.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices for product ordering.
  • Maintain accurate department records and process administrative paperwork.
Team & Department Support
  • May assist in other areas of the Grocery Department as needed.
  • Follow and maintain department standards and requirements.
  • Comply with company grooming standards and dress code.

Pay Transparency:



Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.


  • For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
