Fruit Bouquet Designer

1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. is looking for a Fruit Bouquet Designer to work in the Fruit Kitchen of their Long Island City Market Distribution Center (MDC). This is a high volume, fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a creative background and enjoy working as a team to meet work deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, cut, and chocolate dip fruit for arrangements.
• Arrange fruit in various shapes, sizes, and styles.
• Keep kitchen clean and well organized.
• Check fruit regularly for quality and freshness to meet company and FDA standards.
• Assist in other departments as necessary.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fruit/Food design, a plus.
• Bi-lingual, a plus.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, work is hot and cold temps, and lift 25-40 pounds .
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Willing to work longer hours during holidays and on weekends.
• Must be a team player.
• Good organizational and communication skills necessary.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $17/hour - $20/hour. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
