F/T Branch Manager (Decatur, IL)

Staley Credit Union is seeking an experienced and motivated Branch Manager to lead one of our branch locations. This position is responsible for the overall success of the branch, including leadership and development of staff, lending production, operational excellence, member experience, regulatory compliance, and branch growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, develop, and motivate branch staff to achieve individual, branch, and organizational goals while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and exceptional member service.
  • Create and maintain a positive, member-focused culture that delivers exceptional service and strengthens member relationships.
  • Oversee branch operations, documentation quality, compliance expectations, and performance metrics while identifying trends, coaching staff, and implementing corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure all branch operations, transactions, account opening activities, lending activities, and member service functions are completed accurately and in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively originate, process, underwrite, and close consumer loans in accordance with credit union policies and lending guidelines while serving as the primary lending resource for the branch.
  • Support branch lending goals through personal loan production, coaching staff on lending opportunities, and fostering a culture focused on meeting members’ borrowing needs.
  • Personally assist members with account, lending, and service needs, including opening accounts, originating loans, resolving complex issues, and identifying opportunities to deepen member relationships.
  • Monitor branch performance and key metrics related to growth, service, lending, operational quality, and member experience.
  • Manage branch staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage to meet member needs.
  • Oversee branch cash operations, including cash recyclers, cash drawers, cash vaults, ATMs, balancing procedures, and basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and professional branch environment for members and employees.
  • Foster strong working relationships with other departments and actively collaborate to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Represent Staley Credit Union within the community and actively participate in business development and relationship-building opportunities.
  • Assist with special projects, organizational initiatives, and leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Three to five years of leadership experience within a financial institution, retail banking, credit union, or related service environment preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience and demonstrated leadership success will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of deposit products, lending products, branch operations, and member service practices.
  • Ability to identify operational risks and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build trust, accountability, and teamwork within the branch and across departments.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations related to deposit, lending, and transactional activities.

Benefits of Working with Us:

  • Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000, depending on experience, qualifications, education, and readiness for the role.
  • Flexible hours Monday through Friday; Saturday mornings.
