FT Crisis Intervention Case Worker - 1st and 3rd Shift

We are located on the grounds of Norristown State Hospital in Norristown, PA and accessible by public transportation.

Work Schedule:

• 1st Shift - 7:00am - 3:00pm, 80 hrs biweekly Monday - Friday
• 3rd Shift - 11:00pm - 7:00am, 80 hrs biweekly Monday - Friday
• May be required to work every other weekend

Education Required: Clinical Masters or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, etc...) with three (3) years of direct mental health experience. Will consider any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required. Prior experience in an emergency psychiatric or crisis service, psychiatric/COD Admissions, knowledge of the PA Mental Health ACT, and experience with health insurance authorizations is essential. Must be able to work as team member, be detail oriented, and have strong documentation and verbal skills.

Job Duties: Primary responsibilities for the Crisis Caseworker include:

• Provide coverage for 24/7 crisis hotline, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and walk-in crisis service
• Determine appropriate crisis or emergency response; screen and triage all referrals
• Conduct suicide risk assessments
• Gather psychosocial information and consult with collateral contacts
• Assist with processing involuntary evaluation requests
• Attend to the needs of individuals awaiting services including 1:1 supervision if necessary
• Document assessment of the individual and relevant case information
• Process admissions to the inpatient unit
• Complete precertification with insurance companies

Flexibility with schedule and commitment to attendance for the training period and continued development is a must.

Hourly rate: $21/hr - $23/hr.
