Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited, Life Plan Community located just outside vibrant downtown Lancaster. We are seeking a detailed driven and passionate individual to join our community as we enhance independence and dignity for all our residents. Groundskeepers are critical to ensuring our residents thrive on our beautiful community.

Open Position:

Full-Time Groundskeeper - 7:00am-3:30pm Monday through Friday with the understanding of participation in snow removal procedures, which can and may involve occasional weekends and/or Holidays.

Base Pay - Determined based upon years of experience, starting rate $16.75 with less than 1 year experience.

Qualifications:

  • Valid PA Driver's License, within good standing.
  • Previous experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be honest, dependable, & safety conscious
  • Must be able to complete tasks with little or no supervision
  • Ability to take direction in handling equipment in the performance of job duties

Environmental Conditions/Equipment Used:

  • Work is performed outdoors throughout the year with exposure to seasonal elements (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.)
  • Equipment used: dump truck, shears, snow blowers, tractor, aerators, hand saws, vacuums, electric hand tools, lawn tools, trailers, weed eaters, blowers, clippers, spreaders, chain saw, mowers, and snowplows

Responsibilities (the following is an overview of the responsibilities of the position and should not be considered to be all inclusive):

  • Operate equipment required for landscaping projects & mowing.
  • Understand and apply basic rules of safety.
  • Perform individualized assignments according to schedules.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment maintaining in good working order.
  • Be flexible, receptive, and adaptive to change.
  • Work cooperatively and productively with co-workers.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor on areas that need improvement
  • Constantly able to grasp, carry, and manipulate objects such as weed whacker, shovel, broom, hoe, rake, and wheelbarrow.
  • Push/Pull up to 100lb items such as tractor implements & salt.
  • Stoop, bend, and squat as required to reach the ground in wedding and in the performance of equipment repairs.
