We are seeking a dedicated and experienced FT Nursing Instructor - Pharmacology to support the delivery of high quality nursing education in an onsite academic setting. This role is ideal for a passionate nurse educator who enjoys mentoring students, facilitating hands on learning, and preparing future nurses for professional practice.
The Nursing Instructor works collaboratively with nursing leadership and faculty to ensure consistent instruction, strong student engagement, and positive academic outcomes across lecture, lab, and clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver engaging course lectures, labs, simulations, and/or clinical instruction
- Facilitate student learning while modeling professionalism and ethical nursing practice
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and performance; identify and support at-risk students
- Provide one-on-one academic support, tutoring, and developmental feedback as needed
- Maintain accurate gradebooks, assessments, evaluations, and student records
- Enforce academic, attendance, dress code, and clinical policies consistently
- Participate in student evaluations, progress reports, and midterm/final grading
- Collaborate with nursing leadership on retention strategies and program development
- Attend required orientations, meetings, and academic events (part-time participation as requested)
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements
- Comply with all state regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current, active, and unencumbered Florida RN (or APRN) license
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong pharmacology foundation
- Comfortable teaching dosage calculations
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on nursing experience in relevant subject areas
- Strong communication, organizational, and instructional skills
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Prior teaching, precepting, or clinical instruction experience
- Familiarity with nursing accreditation standards and outcomes-based education
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Onsite academic and clinical teaching environment
- Ability to stand, walk, demonstrate procedures, and present to groups of students
- Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
