Fuel & Lube Technician

Peri & Sons Farms is seeking applications for a full-time Fuel/Lube technician in Yerington, NV.

Position Summary:

This position drives a lube truck and performs off site lubrication, service, and preventive maintenance work on heavy equipment; performs minor mechanical field repairs on equipment; maintains records and preventive maintenance schedules for assigned equipment; and performs related work as required. Some of the job functions include:

  • Drive a lube truck to various locations and perform servicing of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including fueling, lubrication, changing oil, changing air and oil filters.
  • Check fluids, including windshield washer, transmission, cooling system, brakes, and differential. Fill when necessary
  • Perform maintenance and servicing of the lube truck.
  • Complete preventive maintenance according to assigned schedules for heavy equipment and the lube truck.
  • Monitor records and track hours of service for assigned vehicles and the lube truck.
  • Perform minor repairs on the lube truck and assigned equipment.
  • Perform engine cleaning and prevent rust formation on the engine and its parts.
  • Perform general vehicle inspections to determine the specific types of maintenance and repairs that are needed.
  • Complete minor mechanical repairs on automotive or diesel equipment or vehicles

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements
  • One year of full-time experience in performing vehicle & equipment servicing
  • Formal automotive maintenance training is preferred
  • Ability to use a wide variety of automotive tools and techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires significant physical stamina and adaptability, including the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift objects up to 75 lbs. Employees must perform vigorous activities in varying environments, temperatures, and weather conditions, with exposure to grease, oils, lubricants, and fuels. Specific vision requirements include close vision and focus adjustment. Regular travel by automobile is necessary. Work is primarily conducted in mechanic shops and field settings, with moderate to high exposure to physical risks, especially around heavy machinery and equipment. Employees must maintain alertness during long shifts and strict adherence to safety procedures is critical to mitigate risks.

Compensation:
