Job Summary:
This position is responsible for field fueling, lubing, and servicing of construction equipment under the coordination of dispatch.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
- Follow dispatch route, plan route changes, and prioritize jobs.
- Maintain alignment with project supervisors, superintendent, project manager, and dispatch.
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries, as required.
- Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
- Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
- Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
- Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change fluids & filters, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) and ensure vehicle is maintained clean.
- Follow the delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs, and track and report working hours.
- Provide ad hoc support and assistance in the daily operation of the shop and field activities.
- Communicate with dispatch to report issues and as needed.
- Adhere to company rules and regulations.
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
- Comply with OSHA, ICC, and DOT regulations.
- Regular attendance is required according to company policy to ensure the crew can operate at the normal efficiency level.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and policies while promoting the company’s safety culture.
- Perform other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Clean driving record with no violations, and must be able to clear a background check and drug screen.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles.
- Able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Able to work on an individual basis and in a team environment.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to push/pull 80+ lbs.
- Ability to lift/carry 80+ lbs.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
Education and Experience:- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class A driver’s license with a clear MVR and Medical Card required.
- HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement required.
- 2+ years proven experience driving commercial vehicle in construction environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:- Exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift carry 80+ lbs.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- Exposure to extreme heat or cold external temperatures
- Frequent sitting along with frequent standing and moving activity.

This position routinely requires the use of personal and/or company vehicles on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
