Ful-Time Optician/Optometric Technician (Cross-Trained)

Pearle Vision is seeking a dedicated and versatile Full-Time Optician/Optometric Technician (Cross-Trained) to join our eye care team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing exceptional patient care while utilizing a broad skill set that includes optical services, medical assisting, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in ophthalmology, medical terminology, and retail sales, with the ability to adapt to various responsibilities across the clinic. Experience with EMR systems, HIPAA compliance, and laboratory procedures is highly valued. This position is integral to delivering comprehensive eye care services and supporting our patients' visual health needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and handling necessary equipment.
• Conduct preliminary tests including vital signs, visual acuity assessments, and basic eye health screenings.
• Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Epic and other electronic health record platforms while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Provide optical services including frame selection, lens measurements, claim billing and fitting adjustments as an optician.
• Educate patients on eyewear options, lens choices, and proper eye care practices; promote retail sales of eyewear and accessories.
• Handle medical billing and coding procedures related to optical services and general clinic visits.
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment following aseptic techniques during procedures requiring infection control.

Experience

• Prior experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinics is highly desirable.
• Experience working with EMR systems such as Acuity Logic or similar platforms is preferred.
• Background in retail sales or retail management can be beneficial for promoting eyewear products effectively.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of patient information.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
