Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are a rapidly growing local boutique bookkeeping agency seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who can confidently manage full charge bookkeeping for multiple client accounts without hand holding. This is not an entry level position. You must have prior experience independently handling full charge bookkeeping for multiple businesses that require more than simply clearing a bank feed.

This is not a position where you just click Add in QuickBooks. The majority of our clients require journal entries, proper matching inside the bank feed, and a strong understanding of how transactions flow through the general ledger. Many of our clients use POS and service based integrations, so you must understand how to work with connected systems and reconcile them correctly.

You will be working directly inside client accounts, and maintaining a consistent weekly cadence is critical to our success. We use ClickUp to track project movement, tasks, and team communication, so staying organized and communicating clearly is essential.

This is a W2 position. Because you will be working inside confidential client financial records, you will be required to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement. Protecting the privacy and security of our clients is a non negotiable standard within our firm.

Work Schedule

Our goal is to operate Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM at the latest. This position is not designed for nights or weekend work. We value structure, availability during normal business hours, and team accessibility.

This role is primarily in office in Foley, Alabama. However, the majority of our team works remotely in other locations. You must be comfortable collaborating with a remote team and communicating clearly through ClickUp chat and task updates. Strong written communication skills are essential.

We will work together to determine a schedule within those hours that supports both productivity and flexibility. We are not structured to train from the ground up. You must be ready to step in and manage accounts confidently and correctly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full charge bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks Online
  • Perform weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Create and post journal entries as required
  • Match transactions appropriately within the bank feed rather than relying on Add
  • Work with POS and service integrations such as Toast, Square, Clover, Housecall Pro, and ServiceTitan
  • Reconcile integration clearing accounts and verify deposits against payout reports
  • Identify mapping issues between third party systems and QuickBooks Online
  • Maintain clean general ledgers and accurate account classifications
  • Prepare and review financial statements including profit and loss and balance sheet reports
  • Communicate clearly within ClickUp to track tasks, deadlines, and project status
  • Collaborate effectively with a remote team
  • Follow established quality control procedures using Keeper and Double
  • Maintain secure access to client accounts through LastPass

Systems We Use

You must be comfortable using technology and willing to learn quickly. If you do not know every system listed below, that is acceptable, but you must be able to get up to speed quickly.

  • ClickUp for project management and team communication
  • QuickBooks Online
  • Keeper/Double for quality control and review processes
  • LastPass for secure password management
  • Gusto and Payentry for payroll clients

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two to three years of hands on bookkeeping experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client accounts independently
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits and general ledger structure
  • Experience creating journal entries and reconciling accounts accurately
  • Experience working with POS or service based integrations and related clearing accounts
  • Ability to identify when a transaction requires a journal entry versus simple bank feed categorization
  • Comfortable working inside multiple client files
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues before they become problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with a remote team and communicating consistently online
  • Ability to work in a structured Monday through Friday schedule

What We Are Looking For

We are growing quickly and need someone who identifies issues before they become problems and takes ownership of their work without waiting to be told what to do. A high level of organization, attention to detail, and professional communication are essential in this role. Experience cleaning up messy books and untangling undeposited funds accounts is a strong plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
