Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. This vital role involves overseeing all aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various accounting software platforms, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others, along with a solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). As a key member of our finance team, you will handle everything from general ledger management to payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and financial report writing. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will help us maintain impeccable financial health and transparency.

Duties

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining vendor and customer records.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Conduct payroll processing using various financial software platforms such as QuickBooks Payroll or similar tools, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit or corporate entities as applicable.
  • Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy across all ledgers and subsidiary accounts.
  • Assist with budgeting processes by providing accurate account analysis and supporting documentation for financial planning.
  • Handle tax-related tasks including preparation of tax filings and supporting documentation based on current regulations.
  • Utilize technical accounting skills to troubleshoot discrepancies, perform account analysis, and improve bookkeeping workflows.
  • Support internal audits by providing organized documentation of financial transactions and records.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role within corporate or non-profit organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP and governmental accounting standards where applicable.
  • Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
  • Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting processes.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with financial report writing and the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks related to bookkeeping activities.
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial concepts essential for accurate account analysis.
  • Prior experience working within public accounting firms or handling governmental/non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Pay: $25.14 - $30.27 per hour
