About the Role
Are you an accounting professional who thrives on precision and enjoys mentoring others? Clergy Financial Resources is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to serve as a vital partner for our clients. In this role, you won’t just "crunch numbers"—you will manage the financial health of faith-based organizations, ensuring their missions are supported by accurate, transparent, and compliant financial data.
You will lead your own client portfolio while serving as a technical resource and final reviewer for our bookkeeping team.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and weekly payroll entries for a designated client base.
- Fund Accounting Mastery: Manage designated funds and create monthly journal entries to ensure Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet) accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Perform bank, loan, and investment reconciliations. Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and budget updates.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct the final review of peer financial statements to ensure 100% accuracy before client delivery.
- Client Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, answering complex inquiries and troubleshooting financial discrepancies.
- Team Support: Act as a "Level 2" resource for bookkeepers to help resolve complex month-end entries and software hurdles.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience (non-profit or fund accounting experience is a major plus).
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Certification: Must hold QuickBooks Certification or have the ability to obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial client leaders.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
