Full-Stack Developer - First Engineering Hire

What We're Building

PreferNP is a management services organization powering psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners — handling credentialing, billing, scheduling, and patient acquisition so providers can focus on clinical work. We're growing fast and building the internal infrastructure to match.

We're hiring our first developer to own that infrastructure.

The Role

This isn't a feature-ticket job. You'll be identifying operational problems across the business and building systems, automations, and AI-powered tools to solve them — then moving to the next one. You'll work directly with the co-founders, have real ownership over architectural decisions, and ship things that affect how the company runs day-to-day.

If you like the idea of picking up a messy workflow and leaving behind something that just works, this is the job.

What you'll work on:

• Agentic AI workflows — building tools that take real operational tasks off people's plates
• Internal portals and dashboards integrating EHR data, billing systems, and credentialing pipelines
• API integrations with healthcare platforms and third-party tools
• Automations that eliminate manual work across operations, RCM, and provider onboarding
• Provider-facing features: scheduling, documentation, analytics

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• You've shipped things. Show us — projects, demos, repos, whatever form it takes.
• Solid full-stack fundamentals. You can own a feature end-to-end.
• You use AI coding tools daily and know how to get the most out of them (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)
• You're a self-starter. You don't wait to be told what to build next.
• You're interested in HIPAA and software security — either you know it or you'll own learning it. Healthcare data is a real constraint here, not an afterthought.

Strong plus:

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, custom tool-use patterns)
• API integrations in regulated or complex industries
• Dashboards, data viz, analytics tooling
• Internal tooling or developer infrastructure background
