DeskFrnd is a UK-focused Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company providing technology, operations, and digital support services to international clients. We work with growing global organizations across education, SaaS, and service-based industries.

As part of an international EdTech client project, we are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to support product development, feature enhancements, and ongoing technical improvements for a wellbeing-focused digital platform used by schools globally.

About the Role
You will work closely with the Product Director and a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to:
Support investigations
Bug fixes
Feature development
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical skills and a problem-solving mindset. There are no people management responsibilities — the focus is purely on development and delivery.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on meaningful products with real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve technical issues and bugs
Develop and enhance platform features
Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders
Maintain clean, scalable, and efficient code
Support ongoing improvements to platform performance and stability

Required Skills & Experience
Strong proficiency in vanilla PHP
Experience working with HTML and PHP cURL calls for frontend interactions
Hands-on experience with Backbone.js and jQuery for Single Page Application (SPA) interfaces
Solid knowledge of Laravel for backend development, including:
Business logic
User authentication
Database management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive and self-driven working style
Familiarity with AWS Web Services, including deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management.
Experience working in SaaS or product-based environments, Interest in education, wellbeing, or impact-driven products
