Full-Time Communications Officers
Greene County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a professional, highly responsible, technical individual for a Full Time 911 Dispatcher position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer emergency (911) and non-emergency phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Determine the nature and location of emergencies, prioritize calls, and dispatch appropriate response units.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers as needed, including basic first aid or safety directions.
- Operate a multi-line telephone system and radio dispatch equipment.
- Monitor and respond to multiple radio frequencies simultaneously.
- Maintain detailed records of calls, actions taken, and unit statuses using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Communicate effectively with emergency personnel and coordinate resources.
- Perform database searches for warrants, driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, and other law enforcement data.
- Remain calm and focused under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
