Full-Time Assistant Preschool Teacher

Little Oaks Early Learning Academy is a Christian preschool program located in Covenant Methodist Church. We are looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher with proven experience working with 2-year-olds.

The selected candidate must be available to attend a required in-person training from July 28-Aug 1.

Schedule

8:30AM-5:30PM Monday-Friday (1 hour lunch break)
Schedule is approximate and subject to change based on the needs of the school.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement provided curriculum for the students and use creative learning to stimulate growth.
• Provide consistency with work attendance so the children can depend on the same teacher daily.
• Provide primary care and caregiving activities to a broad range of preschool ages.
• Use various teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing, etc.) to enhance the child's abilities.
• Evaluate children's performance to ensure they are on the right learning track.
• Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on their children's progress.
• Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action using positive reinforcements.
• Collaborate with other colleagues and be a team player.
• Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations as established by Texas Childcare Licensing.
• Be comfortable implementing faith-based Bible lessons to the students throughout the day.
• Always speak to the children in a kind, loving tone to positively nurture their development.

Skills

• Proven experience as a child care/daycare teacher is highly recommended.
• Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods.
• Methodical and creative in teaching ability.
• Patience, flexibility, and a deep love for children.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Certificate in First Aid and CPR

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and sit on the floor to engage with children.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis (children, classroom equipment, or supplies).
• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and move throughout the classroom and playground areas.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Sufficient vision, hearing, speech, and mobility to ensure a safe environment and effective supervision of children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
