Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Full Time Bilingual (English-Spanish) Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support immigration law cases and assist clients through complex legal processes. As a key member of our firm, you will play an active role in managing case files, conducting legal research, and providing administrative support to attorneys, ensuring smooth case progression and exceptional client service.
Duties
- Assist attorneys with preparing and reviewing immigration-related documents, including petitions, applications, and correspondence in both English and Spanish
- Conduct legal research across various practice areas such as immigration law, family law, landlord-tenant law, and more using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accurate data entry, filing, and document review
- Interview clients in person or via phone to gather necessary information for case preparation while demonstrating professional phone etiquette
- Draft legal documents with precision, including affidavits, declarations, and correspondence; proofread all materials for accuracy
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, tracking case progress, and maintaining organized schedules
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence efficiently
- Conduct thorough legal research on topics such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal regulations, patent law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and litigation procedures
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required; excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages are essential
- Paralegal experience in a busy law office environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative processes including document review, case management, data entry, filing systems, and transcription
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is necessary
- Experience with legal software like iManage or PCLaw is advantageous
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail in drafting legal documents
- Knowledge of diverse practice areas including immigration law, family law, landlord-tenant law, estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law is a plus
- Strong project management abilities to coordinate tasks efficiently within deadlines
