Full-time Cafeteria Worker/ Cashier

Position:

Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School is a four-year regional vocational technical high school serving approximately 650 students and currently offering fifteen technical programs. The district is currently expanding, with projected enrollment growth over the coming years.

This Cafeteria Worker / Cashier position will be assigned primarily to the district’s new extended campus located in the former Cold Spring School in Belchertown, Massachusetts. The Belchertown campus is scheduled to open in September 2026 and is expected to serve approximately 100 students during its first year of operation. The Cafeteria Worker / Cashier may be required to provide coverage or support at the main Pathfinder Tech campus in Palmer on an occasional basis.

Qualifications:

● Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

● Minimum of one-year experience working in a food service setting, preferably with quantity foods.

● Basic computer knowledge.

● Ability to perform bookkeeping and counting of money.

● Must have appropriate ServSafe certification or be able pass and willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hiring.

Performance Responsibilities:

● Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

● Assist with daily operations pertaining to the school breakfast and lunch programs including the preparation of foods

● Serve as cashier during student meal times.

● Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Compensation:

$19.94 per hour to $28.39 per hour, commensurate with education and experience

Position Type: Full-Time, school year position

Work Year and Benefits:

This position is a school year position, typically including 10 additional days each year beyond the school year for students. Benefits include optional health/dental/vision insurance, retirement benefits, sick leave, personal leave, bereavement leave, paid holidays and some additional benefits.
