Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.

Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.

Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.

Take and record digital dental radiographs (x-rays).

Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.

Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).

Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).

Take dental impressions or molds for diagnostic and treatment purposes.

Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.

Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies).

Help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery.

Proven experience as a dental assistant.

Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures.

Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.

Understanding of health & safety regulations.

Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus.

Good computer skills with experience in dental practice management software.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of dexterity and attention to detail.

Reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.

Relevant certification or associate degree in Dental Assisting/Technology.

Flexibility to handle various roles within the practice, as needed.
