Full-Time Dental Assistant

Orchard Family Dental is a modern general family practice looking to expand our team! We are currently looking for a full-time dental assistant that works well both in a team and individually, paying great attention to detail while being motivated to grow their skills. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required for this role. Compensation will be commensurate to relevant work experience.

This is a full-time position and will require working one Saturday per month. The weekday schedule is Monday-Wednesday and Friday, with Thursdays off.

Primary responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for dental procedures and make them comfortable.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Set up trays for dental procedures.
• Assist the dentist during procedures (e.g., handing instruments, suctioning, etc.).
• Take and audit patient x-ray records to ensure office is compliant.
• Apply topical anesthetics or fluoride.
• Take impressions of patients' teeth for models or study casts.
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
• Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) if needed.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks, like pouring and trimming models.
• Track lab cases to ensure they are received on time.
• Support other team members when needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a dental office; experience in general dentistry preferred
• Certification from an accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent required
• Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification preferred
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong team player with motivation to grow as an individual
• Bilingual in Spanish or Korean is preferred
