Full Time Dental Hygienist

Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and medical imaging results to inform treatment plans
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs
  • Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging equipment, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Maintain detailed clinical notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including documentation review and medical coding when necessary

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft for managing patient records and documentation review
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred to effectively care for young patients
  • Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and chairside assisting during various procedures
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records confidentiality and documentation review
  • Previous experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating proficiency in dental assisting, medical coding, and infection prevention
