Job Summary:
Temple Israel in Minneapolis is seeking a proactive and versatile Facilities Associate to help keep our historic building welcoming and ensure the smooth execution of services and events. This full-time role combines hands-on custodial and facilities work — including event setup, light maintenance, and general cleaning. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking, and diagnosing issues under pressure, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare rooms and communal spaces for services and special events, including setup, takedown, and cleanup.
● Maintain the cleanliness and safety of our historic facility, including routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and trash removal.
● Troubleshoot basic technical and facilities issues efficiently and communicate larger repair needs to the Facility Manager.
● Respond to staff requests promptly and professionally, providing support and solutions as needed.

● Work effectively as part of a team alongside clergy, production staff, facilities, and other employees to ensure a welcoming environment and seamless event execution.

Qualifications:

● Experience in custodial, event setup, and light maintenance work.

● Familiarity with audio and video equipment and an ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

● Ability to lift and carry 15–50 pounds and work in various weather conditions as needed.
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
● Excellent interpersonal skills and a courteous, team-oriented attitude.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays as part of a regular schedule.

● Driver’s license is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

● $21/hour

● Full-time, evening and weekend shifts required
