Full Time Firefighter Position

Hampton County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is currently accepting applications for Full-Time Firefighter positions. HCFR is a progressive combination fire department committed to delivering professional, reliable, and effective fire, rescue, and emergency services to the citizens and visitors of Hampton County.

Position Details:

• Position Title: Firefighter (Full-Time)
• Location: Hampton County, South Carolina
• Schedule: 24/48 Shift Rotation
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation & Benefits:

• Starting Salary (Firefighter II): $48,898.76 annually
• Paid on a biweekly basis
• Overtime opportunities available

Primary Responsibilities:

Firefighters with Hampton County Fire Rescue are expected to perform a wide range of emergency and non-emergency duties, including but not limited to:

• Responding to fire suppression, rescue, EMS assist, and other emergency incidents
• Operating fire apparatus and equipment in a safe and effective manner
• Participating in daily training, drills, and continuing education
• Conducting station and apparatus maintenance
• Supporting community risk reduction (CRR) and public education initiatives
• Maintaining physical fitness and readiness for duty
• Operating within established department SOPs, SOGs, and safety guidelines
• Assisting with mutual aid and automatic aid responses as required

Applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License (Class E minimum; CDL preferred)
• IFSAC or Pro-Board Firefighter II Certification
• Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT)
• Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification
• Current CPR Certification

Ability to pass:

• Background investigation
• Drug screening
• Physical agility assessment

• Commitment to public service and community engagement

The following certifications and experience are highly desirable:

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B)
• Hazardous Materials Operations Certification
• Pump Operator I and Pump Operator II
• Previous fire service experience (career or volunteer)
