Full-Time Floating Substitute

Suttons Bay School has an opening for a full-time, school year Floating Substitute to work across our district. This position is essential for maintaining continuity in our K-12 learning environment, as the successful candidate will work daily to fill in for absent teachers and paraprofessionals wherever needed across all grade levels. The daily assignment will vary, requiring the ability to quickly adapt to different classrooms, subjects, and student needs.

Candidates must be student-centered problem solvers with a strong desire to create a positive and joyful learning environment for all students. Ideal candidates will have experience in establishing meaningful relationships and developing a positive rapport with students, parents, and other staff members. Our ideal candidates are also fiercely resilient, creative, and innovative in finding ways to motivate students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Substitute teach and oversee the execution of daily lesson plans
• Support student needs to remove barriers that may interfere with academic success
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues
• Abide by and maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal requirements

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of an Associates Degree or 60+ College Credits
• The ability to pass a background check
• The ability to work in different grade levels and classrooms throughout the week
• The strong desire to see all students achieve outstanding results
• The strong desire and ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students
• The skill and willingness to learn and use student support systems to ensure that the social, emotional, nutritional, and health needs of all students are addressed
• The capacity to respond to the individual academic and non-academic needs of students
• The willingness to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches, and administrators for support and ongoing learning
