Full-Time (FT) Mechanic

Kawahara Nurseries (http://kniplants.com) is a third generation family business producing outdoor garden plants at two facilities in Morgan Hill and Gilroy. We have 500+ employees and are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our team at our Gilroy location.

Job Summary

The Mechanic position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all commercial trucks and trailers, small farm tractors, golf carts, bikes, machinery, and equipment. Mechanic teammates perform preventative maintenance wherever possible in an effort to keep the nursery operating safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement and execute preventative maintenance programs
• Perform general mechanic duties such as adding oils, bike repairs, inspection and greasing of equipment, minor repairs of production lines, belt and chain replacements, golf cart maintenance and battery replacements
• Quickly respond to all repair requests from drivers and other personnel who operate equipment

Requirements

• Previous mechanic experience
• English required; Spanish a plus
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly
• Flexibility to work late and on select Saturdays as needed
