Full-time Greenskeeper

Seattle Golf Club is currently seeking a full-time greenskeeper to join our Turf department. If you are someone who enjoys the sport of golf or the outdoors in general, you are encouraged to apply. Established in 1900, Seattle Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf club in North Seattle with a renowned championship golf course, outstanding practice facilities and exceptional clubhouse amenities. Seattle Golf Club is regarded as one of the premier private clubs on the west coast, priding itself on elite playing conditions and remarkable service. The Turf Team works diligently to provide these conditions, and greenskeepers are vital members of these processes, performing a variety of tasks related to the daily set-up and maintenance of our historic golf course.

We are looking to add members to our team who are motivated to join the culture and willing to collaborate with others toward a common goal. Applicants require experience working on a golf course maintenance team and should possess solid communication skills and the desire to learn and grow. Punctuality, efficiency, and adaptability are a must, as is a sense of urgency. The ability to lift 50 pounds, work in inclement weather and be standing/walking most of the day are also required. Our full-time greenskeepers expect involvement in all our tasks from daily routine maintenance to large-scale projects.

Experience working on a golf course is necessary, and we will continue to develop. This position requires a valid driver's license. Pay for this position starts at $23.00 per hour. Generally, the hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm with every third weekend also requiring some hours, with weekend shifts ranging from four to eight hours. All of our employees enjoy the privileges of free golf on Monday and Saturdays, as well as free meals Tuesday through Friday. Candidates will be expected to learn and participate in all aspects of our golf course maintenance program. Initial responsibilities include the likes of walk-mowing of greens and tees, bunker maintenance and debris clean up, with more intricate tasks being assigned when appropriate.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Landscape maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
• golf course maintenance: 1 year (Required)
