Full-Time Hybrid Public Affairs Director

Overview

Designovation Strategies, LLC is seeking a Senior Public Affairs Director to provide cabinet-level communications counsel to Federal clients . The advisor will deliver high-quality executive materials, manage media engagement, and ensure alignment with Administration and agency priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel to agency leadership on public affairs messaging and media engagement.
• Develop and deliver position papers, negotiation strategies, executive briefings, and media strategies.
• Maintain and leverage a trusted national media network (TV, print, digital, and social).
• Prepare principals for media appearances, interviews, and congressional testimony.
• Produce daily/weekly media monitoring reports with sentiment and risk analysis.
• Serve as a rapid-response advisor during crisis events, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging.
• Support interagency communications coordination on high-profile policy issues.

Required Experience

• 15+ years of experience in executive-level communications, preferably at the cabinet level.
• Experience within the Federal sector at Cabinet-Level agencies and/or Congressional entities
• Proven experience supporting Administration communications priorities (including during the Trump Administration).
• Strong, established network of media contacts across national and regional outlets.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written deliverables under urgent deadlines.
• Experience advising cabinet secretaries, agency heads, or equivalent senior officials.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, discretion, and ability to operate in high-pressure environments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop rapid-response content during crisis events.
• Familiarity with Presidential Executive Orders and federal digital communications mandates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the client and other team members (team chemistry is of great importance)
• Capable of switching between tasks and activities on a daily basis, based on priorities
• Quick learner, self-starter, possesses a great attitude
• Excellent customer service skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
