The School of Technologies at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is seeking a full-time Instructor of Industrial Automation & Maintenance.
As a full-time Instructor, the faculty member will teach a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year and advise/mentor students in the related program areas. Courses taught may include: industrial diagram reading (fluid power schematics, electrical ladder diagrams, and inputs and outputs), three phase reversing motor control circuits including time delays and VFD, fluid power fundamentals and fluid power troubleshooting, mechanical skills, power transmission devices (shaft alignment, couplings, bearings, torque and rpm, and failure modes), preventive maintenance (lubrication, filtration, vibration analysis, and record keeping), metallurgy and usage of related laboratory equipment and testing equipment.
Position Qualifications:
- Associate degree in related area and 5+ years of practical experience required.
- Bachelor degree in related area and prior teaching experience preferred.
- Applicants must be able to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, alumni, adjunct faculty, and members of the professional community.
- Successful candidates must be organized, have effective multi-tasking skills, and be able to work in a changing environment.
