Full-Time Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist
Location: MH2 Technology Law Group LLP – Tysons Corner, VA (Primarily Remote)

MH2 Technology Law Group is a boutique patent law firm founded in 2003, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to excellence in intellectual property law. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized IP Specialist to join our dynamic IP Admin team. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute meaningfully within a supportive and experienced group of IP professionals.
Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist Responsibilities:
· Prepare and file patent applications (provisional, nonprovisional, 371 National Phase, and PCT) with relevant government agencies.
· File USPTO documents including responses, Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs), Requests for Continued Examination (RCEs), along with other procedural filings.
· Communicate effectively with the USPTO, attorneys, foreign associates, and clients to gather documentation and respond to inquiries.
· Monitor and manage deadlines for IP maintenance, renewals, and other critical actions.
· Review Filing Receipts, Notices of Recordation, Notices of Allowance, etc., for accuracy and prepare corrections when needed.
· Draft reporting letters and emails on behalf of attorneys.
· Generate client-requested reports and assist with IP portfolio management, including organizing and maintaining legal records.
· Record time and disbursements using the firm’s billing software.
· Interpret docket entries, identify required actions, and update the docket accordingly.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in intellectual property.
· Proficiency with IP docketing software (CPI preferred).
· Strong understanding of intellectual property law and global IP systems.
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders.
· Experience with both domestic and international filings.
· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of proprietary and client related information.
Working Conditions:
· Flexible full-time schedule with occasional overtime.
· Primarily remote work environment, with occasional in-office meetings for local staff.
